Two questions:

  1. Call my lazy but I dislike managing multiple teams. I only enjoy the tactical aspect where I take great pleasure blowing the hell out of Pandorans and enemies alike to smithereens. To this end, is it possible to successfully play this game with only one team on geoscape for the entirety of the campaign?

  2. On another note, is it possible to play the game indefinitely by slowing down the doomsday clock to a crawl or even stop it altogether (thus ensuring I can play it indefinitely)? If so, what changes would I have to make to the game? As a Mac-gamer (no jokes, please), I do not have the luxury of running mods - at least not without going through extraordinary hurdles - to tailor the game to my taste. But I do have access to console commands. I've been tinkering with various features that would help me slow down the doomsday clock, but I have yet to find a solution.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT: Finally found the solution to the 'problem'. With minimal effort that DOES NOT require installing mod(s), I now have a team capable of reaching anywhere in the world at a moment's notice. No longer do I need to manage multiple tactical teams. This solution does require one to have console mode enabled, though.

  1. Select the aircraft to be deployed on geoscape, and then place the cursor (without clicking the mouse button) on the destination Point-of-Interest (POI).

  2. Press the Tilda key (~) to open the console mode, then type "tpv" without the quotation mark and hit return/enter. In an instant, the aerial vehicle that you have selected will engage jump drive and teleport to the destination. Zero transit time.

The ramification of this Jump Drive Technology (JDT) would mean that aircraft's speed is now essentially obsolete. No longer does one need to steal/build Synedrion's Helios in order to have the fastest ship. With JDT, you can even use Anu's Tiamat, the slowest ship in the game (but with the largest carrying capacity), to transport your troops to any destination in the world in an instant.
