The Clippers joined the NBA in the 1970-71 season. Bucks won the title that year. Clippers went on a 50-year conference finals drought, and when they break the streak this season (2020-21), the Bucks also broke their 50-year title drought in the same year

Both teams also did what no teams have done before, overcoming a 2-0 deficit twice in the same playoffs

2020: Bucks (56-17) lose to Heat (44-29) 4-1 in the second round

The curse of the best record continues! However, lets take this further.

The last time the team with the best record won the title was in 2017. It looks like this curse has continued now for 5 straight years. If we go back even further...

2009: Cavaliers (66-16) lose to Magic (59-23) in the Eastern Conference Finals 4-2

2005: Suns (62-20) lose to Spurs (59-23) in the Western Conference Finals 4-1

2004: Pacers (61-21) lose to Pistons (54-28) in the Eastern Conference Finals 4-2

In the last 19 years, the team with the best record in the NBA has only won 5 times.
