Posts about Jeremy Irons
I have been apprehensive about reading or listening to Lolita, for obvious reasons, but whenever someone talks about beautifully written books, Lolita is always mentioned and I am a fan of poetic prose. So I decide I will give it a go.
I have just finsihed it and i am blown away at how such an awful story can feel so captivating and how beutiful it is. It's also full of humour which I did not expect.
I can not fully put in to words how I feel after listening to it. It was like a work of art filling you with horror but seeming so poetic and beutiful. Jeremy Irons narration was incredible and I think this made it even more immersive for me. I would love to hear others opinions on this as it is a very strange feeling, that I have never experienced before with any book. The plot should make it unreadable but yet its quite the opposite.
