Posts about Asgard's Wrath
More than 2 years after launch Asgard's Wrath is as awesome as ever - I took a few shots while playing the game
When I got my Quest 2 in Dec of 2020 (definitely a COVID purchase), I got Asgard's Wrath for free. I don't generally like RPGs, and when I fired it up for the first time, I was using a Geforce GTX 1070 and I think it defaulted to lowest graphics settings. Not knowing much of anything at the time, I quickly abandoned it because it looked terrible and well, RPG.
I played a ton of AAA titles since (Alyx, WDSS, Moss, Lone Echo, and many more) and really got a handle on what VR was about. A year ago I upgraded to an RTX 3070. I guess I was between games at the time and decided to install Asgard's Wrath again.
Wow! At high/epic graphics (which runs great) this game is just stunning. I like the puzzles and platforming elements in particular moreso than the RPG components, which are tolerable for me in this case. I also enjoyed the interplay of the god/moral perspectives which gives it a little of that Moss vibe where you have interact with the environment. Plus the character interplays, while not moss-level engaging are fun and make me smile.
Is it perfect? Nope. It can get repetitive at times, and the fighting is pretty easy and really seems to get in the way -- more like a nuisance rather than helping you progress through anything. But all said, I'm enjoying it and it's really large game with fun platforming components and puzzles, with plenty to do along the way.
Just a recent "rediscovery" so I figured I'd pass it along. FWIW :)
Is anyone else experiencing this horrible stutter with Link? Its been happening for nearly two weeks and It’s happening in all PCVR games. I’ve tried Alyx, Asgards Wrath, Hell Split Arena and many others and it’s incredibly nauseating. My best guess is it has something to do with the V37 update.
just finished it and as i figured, it made me sad to end it. VERY enjoyable game. graphics were nice, gameplay was fun, especially changing out your followers to access different levels with their specific talents. At about three quarters i changed difficulty to easy as i got tired of parrying signature attacks. The ending was disappointing and i expected more. hoping for a sequel some day. Lots of value in this game. i didnt keep track of how many hours i played but it was way more than the estimates and i didnt do a lot of the side quests, mostly just the main missions. A few times i had some glitches that made me leave the game but at least it successfully saved my missions. i have to say this is my favorite game so far. Alyx is an awesome game and all of the fan made content adds immensely to its value, but the single player game wasnt long enough in my opinion. saints and sinners was great, but same thing, should have been longer. So far loving vr. not sure what to play next.
