I’m appalled at those numbers - particularly from Conservative voters (I am one)

Anybody who works with our armed forces should be granted asylum automatically, and not just from Afghanistan. Quite apart from the service they have given, they are most at risk of reprisals afterwards.

Reminds me of the whole thing with the Gurkha regiments and their families, who absolutely should be granted citizenship by right.

Why are you appalled?

That's 14% combined oppose across all respondents, 18% for Conservative voters. That's nothing, by polling standards. Are you reading the right graph here?

1000 Year Tory Reich

You're appalled but are you surprised? Considering large swathes (not all) of your voter base are Primark pearl-clutchers?

You are wrong.

Idk bro it's quite the whopping majority in favour, it's just disguised by the large numbr of neight/DKs.

When any binary poll goes above 50% on issues like this, it's a pretty strong concensus. There will always be minorities to disagree with concensus.

Overall support for 2019 tory voters is 52% and voerall opposed is just 18%.

Wales innit

Think this is one of these things that people answer and then would get upset at what that means in practice.

Someone who cleaned a base for six months in 2007 worked with the British military. Could easily imagine this being 100k people once you include immediate family at which point I think you'd see sentiment change.

I think the estimate is about 20k, so about 55 people per constituency. Not too many

Support. However, I'd want them to be vouched for by whoever they worked with.

Somebody could have been okay to work with trained military personnel but also a right bastard of a human being.

In any event these are traumatised people and would hope they all get emotional support when they arrive.

One of the things these polls tell us is that Labour voters are a little bit more caring than Tories.

they only asked 2000 people total, probably a few students with clipboards in a city centre

There are a lot more factors in play here than how caring people are.

I bring this up all the time. But there's just no housing especially in the areas they want live. Like 8 year waiting times london having mass importation of nice peoples is good, but it effects us natives and the exieting refugees already here waiting for housing, and I know many Europeans waiting for housing as well. So it would be a no, not because I dont want them, but because we can't look after them, the government can't even look after its own ffs

Remain fo' lyfe.

We could pay for eight years of decent, all-inclusive hotel rooms for every single one of them for a fraction of the cost of one year's operations in Afghanistan. Sit the fuck down.
