This place is so different from August to October

Raleigh is so wonderful in the fall. Im originally from Wilmington and we have more of a breeze down there. This place is hard to be outside for three months out of the year. Cannot wait for crisp weather.

I'm Here And I'm Family

Realistically If the coin flip lands favorably there are a couple good weeks in October... Otherwise I feel like you're lucky to get a Halloween where you aren't sweating your ass off in your costume

Decent trade for me from the Midwest, most of my halloweens I remember shivering by the time I made it to the first house lol

Moved last year in late August. Summer didn't break until mid-late October.

Lol yes have to agree. Maybe we will get lucky this year. We’ve had some abnormally warm falls the last couple of years

i don’t understand how people want to do anything outdoors in the summer. it’s miserable. in fall and winter you’ll find me out and about way more.

Shade. 90 in the shade isn’t bad at all.

90 in the sun is pool or water only.

And dawn is extremely early, so if you want to go do outdoors things at 7am you definitely can, and it’s nice out to boot.

This time of year we basically go outside after dinner and let the kids run wild until after dark. It’s kinda fun, TBH.

But I’m from Florida so it’s not that hot to me.

When I moved here from Florida in 2006 .how hot it was in the summer surprised me .but Wilmington near the coast you will get the breeze off the ocean like I did in South Florida

When it’s not super hot or super cold it’s allergy season for me . When it’s nice weather it’s allergy season. I have to be indoors all seasons except maybe winter when I can layer up or November and February.

Inland cities are hotter than coastal cities in the South. Raleigh has lovely urban forest retreats for relief. Go hike Umstead and feel the difference in temp by the creek under the thick canopy.

I hear you, but this is honestly one of the hottest Raleigh summers on record.

There is no autumn here. It will go down to a high of 80 degrees from September until exactly December 31. At that point we will have exactly 2 months of one degree too warm to snow, and raining. Then one month of spring, followed directly by summer.

We will get a single day of snow, and it will be 70 by that afternoon.

The dew point does drop dramatically in mid-late August though. Mid-80s with a dew point in the 50s is pleasant if you're acclimated, mid-80s with a 76°F dew like we've had this last month is actively dangerous for most people. The temperature also drops to a reasonable level at night instead of this hell where it never gets below 70°F.
