Let’s not forget that in 2018, eight Republican lawmakers celebrated the Fourth of July in Moscow, Russia: Senator Richard C. Shelby of Alabama (R), who led the delegation, along with Senators Ron Johnson (R) of Wisconsin, John Neely Kennedy (R) of Louisiana, Steve Daines (R) of Montana, North Dakota’s John Hoeven (R), Jerry Moran of Kansas (R), South Dakota’s John Thune (R), and Rep. Kay Granger of the 12th District of Texas (R).

Jerry Moran of Kansas (R)

As a Kansan, I just want to say that this guy more than lives up to his last name.

Do not forget them on July 4th this year. Anyone in their states needs to be at their offices that week in protest and demanding answers.

And Rand Paul flew back to Moscow in August of that year to hand deliver a letter from Trump to Putin. Nothing to see here.

Weird how not a single Democrat is in that list. They're like so extreme and stuff those Dems, trying to govern and what else?

Lemme guess, eating babies adrenal glands?

Lunatics.

They'd rather be Russian than celebrate 4th of July.

Thune is clean, but the others especially Johnson, Daines, Kennedy and Lee I think may have been turned by Putin, as has been Rand Paul and Josh Hawley. And that is just in the senate. In congress the GOP is even more pro Putin, plus Ron Desantis is in Putin's pocket.

It’s just so much fun and so much easier to be a thug and oversee a dictatorship. They salivated like dogs for it. Gangsters

Sen Daines is one of the two senators who tweeted his zoom with Zelinsky live after being told it would endanger his life. He wants him dead.

Why were they there? I can guess of course, but does anyone know specifically why?

Everyone in Congress knows. Most everyone on r/politics knows. But there has been no mention of it since it happened by anyone in power... thats almost as bizarre as the event itself. Americans deserve to know if we have Russian assets/spies in Congress.

Quote from The Hillstory on the trip:

”I think it's a given in the United States, in both parties, that Russia tried to meddle and probably did meddle in the election," Shelby told the AP.

The lawmakers did not meet with Putin, but offered a warning for Russia against meddling in the 2018 U.S. elections.

”We made the point that if Russia persists in trying to influence our elections, it's going to be very difficult, if not impossible, for us to establish a better relationship," Kennedy said to NPR.

”We didn't come here to say, what you've been doing is great, and we're going to look the other way," Shelby told NPR. "We came here to talk candidly and honestly. The Russians can earn a better relationship with the U.S. if they want to.
