Ottawa: Local news and discussions / Nouvelles locales et discussions.
Last night around 8, I was walking through Sandy Hill when I got hit on the back of my head by a cyclist with the U-shaoed bike locks.
I saw him cycling perpendicular to me and there was enough distance so I crossed and I got completely blindsided by the cyclist.
I don't think he was a crackhead but he was about 5'5, Indian/Pakistan kind of decent. He started yelling something which I didn't catch and hopped off his bike with the bike lock still in his hand.
After I backed away to create some distance, he rode down Goulburn Ave.
I'm ok, no bleeding, concussion or major lump that I can feel.
PSA, stay safe everyone.
In the last two weeks I've seen:
-Driver pasing on the right (driving over bike lane and sidewalk to do it)!!
-Driver passing on the left, overtaking 4 cars, to then enter an intersection to turn right!! Guess he could have done the same as buddy above.
-Driver passing on the left (into oncoming traffic - 3 cars passed total)!!
-Blowing through stop sign (turning right, didn't even come close to stopping)
-A lot of people trying to give up their right of way at stop signs
-No lights or highbeams...
-Merging on the 417 at 50km/hr - like, what the fuck.
