Queen of the United Kingdom from 1952. Eilzabeth II was New Zealand’s head of state.

She was bestowed a title unique to New Zealand in 1953 : "Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Her Other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith."

Since 1974, the monarch's title in New Zealand has been "Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God Queen of New Zealand and Her Other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith"

In 2015 she surpassed Victoria to become the longest-reigning monarch in British history.

Elizabeth II was the first British monarch to celebrate a Platinum (70th) Jubilee, a milestone reached in 2022.
