[Scotto] The Los Angeles Lakers are expected to bring in several veteran free agents for workouts, including former 2013 lottery pick Shabazz Muhammad, league sources told HoopsHype.

It’s crazy how the Lakers had the perfect cast of role players around LeBron and AD in 2020 and decided they were obligated to tear the team apart

I'll never understand letting Caruso and company walk. AC was especially the type of guy that works well next to Bron: defense-minded, doesn't need the ball in his hands to be effective, can hit an open kick out 3. Idk what they were thinking.

The super short off-season really forced their hand in 2021. There were 72 days between game 6 of the Finals and first game of the regular season. To compare, it's been 36 days already since the last game of the Finals. The first regular season game is like another 60-70 days away.

I think trading for Dennis and signing Trez were the right moves due to expected missed games from LeBron/AD. It's trading the defensive core role players for Russ that really killed Vogel's line-up flexibility.

The big complaint was that they needed another ballhandler next to LeBron to get him through the regular season - he's not getting any younger and the offense falls apart when he's not in the game. Schroeder soured on the Lakers and Westbrook was about the only ballhandler left.

At this point with the current roster construction they don't have much of a choice other than hoping everybody is healthy.

Only true losses are Caruso and KCP.

Most of the fan base had mixed feelings about Kuzma and Green. People wanted upgrades, especially given Green’s contract.

Javale was unplayable in the playoffs and Dwight proved that it was his last great year in 2020. He didn’t contribute to any winning basketball since then. Same goes for Rondo.

Markieff Morris was pretty good in those playoffs, but players like him are not hard to find in the league.

Most people hate on it, but 2020 team basically expired right away. The Lakers FO actually upgraded the team pretty well that summer and they started the year 21-6.

AD hurt his Achilles, Schroeder missed time with covid and LBJ suffered an ankle injury. The luck wasn’t on the Lakers side that year and it wasn’t the fault of the FO.

Don’t forget they were up 2-1 on the Suns before AD got hurt.

Perfect cast of role players is very far from the truth

It's crazy how people have suddenly retroactively decided that that team was a "perfect cast of role players"

Definitely panic-rebuilt due to the Suns loss.

The Suns are actually good and will take a major step back when CP3 retires or falls off.

LeGM panicked. He always has to stack the deck in his favor by getting another all star every off season. It just backfired this time.

Perfect example of why you can't listen to players all the time, even potential GOATs aren't great at management decisions.

KCP, Caruso & Kuzma would be an elite complement to any competitive core.

Caruso alone has made a massive impact on the Bulls and I think you'll find KCP is going to have an immense impact on the Nuggets.

But nah, let's strip it down for Westbrook lol.
