Insurance counts it as a motorcycle, not a scooter

I think insurance also counts a PT Cruiser as a truck though

Do you maybe mean FJ Cruiser? If a PT Cruiser is counted as a truck, then a Kia Soul is at the very least a large SUV. Lol

all 2 wheeled vehicles are motorcycles. There is no "scooter" classification for insurance or registration.

Also cycle

Is motorcycle

Does that mean that an Electric Bicycle is actually a Motorcycle ?

What about the bicycle with the chainsaw motor I seen the other day?

When I feel the need to give people a very accurate answer as to what my Navi is, I either tell them it’s a scoot scoot bike or a small Africa Twin.

Does it matter? If you want it buy it. If you don't, don't.

Some Gold Wings have fully automatic transmissions and they are definitely motorcycles.

The Navi really makes you question why the Ruckus costs as much as it does.

Because the ruckus is made in Japan, not India.

Right!

Who cares if you have to switch gears or not. If it's motorized, on two wheels, its a motorcycle.

Hell, by definition scooters are motorcycles.

OH really who cares. Ride it and have fun. It looks like a blast.

Remove all that fairing and see what you have left. It looks like any other EU moped.

I believe it's considered a scooter by most given it's built off a scooter frame. It's low displacement motor and continuously variable transmission also let it fall in line with most scooters.

That said, I don't believe anyone should tell you that it or any scooter for that matter isn't a motorcycle. As many here have pointed out, it follows the same principles as any other that falls under the definition.

Call it what you want, go have fun with it.

Saw someone riding one the other day- did a double take as I initially thought It was grom. Looked like a blast. Seems perfect for the city

For me, the difference is whether its straddled or has a foot well within the chassis.

This is what I was always told too
