How did ABC Studios, Marvel Television and the Marvel Creative Committee manage to make "Marvel's Inhumans" so bad after doing so well with "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."?

Scott Buck.

His signature move was cutting budgets so that execs could get bigger paydays. Inhumans was always set to be a limited series (no real chance at renewal), so they cut the budgets, pocketed the excess, and sent it out to die.

Sorry Scott, You fucked Dexter, Iron Fist, and the Inhumans. I hope you never work again.

When they cut Medusa's hair in a blatantly obvious move to cut the FX budget, I knew the show was fucked.

Check out Scott Buck’s show runner credits and like me, you’ll spend all your time wondering how he still manages to get hired

They made a three-season commitment to Hawaii though.

Came in here to say all of this, LOL.

It’s incredible how one man can make so many poor decisions, and yet still find work, LOL.

Yeah, Scott Buck has a horrible track record of messing up shows. Can’t believe that Marvel trusted him with two shows.

Holy shit was he responsible for Iron Fist?

Damn. That show is the reason why i didn’t give the other Defenders show a chance. It left such a bad taste in my mouth and felt cheap.

He ruined those two as well? Fuck, now I get it and hate him far more. I really liked Dexter at first and was excited for Iron Fist.

That's the problem with society as far as I'm concerned. I have a hard time comprehending record profits, but also, "we can't afford labor costs."

Well you're kind of right, Buck is more so known for getting things out fast and cheap. I'd imagine they had some sort of contract with IMAX that necessitated a rushed production.

I know that the situation with Iron Fist was a little more complicated, much of their budget was used up by the previous shows and the unbudgeted addition of Daredevil Season 2 and they left the production super late as well for whatever reason (Perhaps Daredevil S2 pushed it back against the deadline of The Defenders?)

It's generally really dumb planning by whoever runs this stuff rather than greedy penny pinching.

Also Ike Perlmutter, the rascist, sexist fuck who recast Rhodey because "all blacks looks alike" and who didn't want to make movies with female heroes because those don't sell toys. Feige wanted to make Inhumans as a movie and Ike snatched it away to do it as a TV project as a final "fuck you" before losing pretty much all his power to Feige.

As soon as I saw his name, I knew that was the nail in the coffin. I don't know anything about him as a person, he might be a very nice guy, but damn I have never seen a show of his where I thought they knew what they were doing.

That part

Harsh, but fair. His shows have just not been very good, and he’s the common denominator.

If Dexter could have been saved with a revival, Inhumans can be saved too.

Spider-Man

Sitting through Iron Fist season 1 was agonizing.
