“I just don’t know.”
That is kind of hilarious if he is being honest. Imagine not actually knowing if any of the stuff you have filmed may be in an upcoming film.
“I mean, I was filmed doing stuff that wasn’t for the Loki series, but fuck if I know what film it was for.”
The thing I find the funniest is that Tom Hiddleston filmed some scenes for Thor's dream sequence in Age of Ultron that weren't in the final cut of the movie.
So it's totally fair for him to not know if he's gonna appear or not, because it happened to him in the past.
It's kind of amazing how much money they spend filming things that end up not being used, like those Loki scenes, or Katherine Langford scene with Tony on Endgame. You bet those things are expensive even if they're just really short scenes.
I mean…it kind of makes sense though. It doesn’t make it any less hilarious or absurd, but it makes sense
Like think about Mark Ruffalo at the end of Iron Man 3. Did he know that was for that? Probably, there wasn’t as much going on at that point. But imagine if there was a Thor show and a Captain America movie and an Iron Man movie and a Black Widow show all going on at the same time. The water is so muddy
This may honestly all be just a way to prevent a Tom Holland leaking things situation going forward
Yeah with all the time fuckery, even alternate angles of previously filmed scenes are definitely in scope (Avengers watching Hulk smash a car in Endgame, Ant-Man being present when Loki steals the Tesserract). It’s entirely possible he’s in both MoM and Thor 4 and doesn’t know it.
That happened to Gwyneth Paltrow. She didn't know she was in Spider-Man because she shot her scene with something else and the internet went nuts about how dumb she must be for not knowing she was in a movie.
That's exactly what happened to Gwyneth Paltrow. She appeared in one scene of Spider-Man: Homecoming, but was under the impression it was a scene for Infinity War when Jon Favreau brought it up in some interview later. I wouldn't be at all surprised if she filmed her scenes for both of those movies in one day.
I get the feeling that Marvel are at a stage where they could legit be mixing up shooting schedules of different movies and all under working titles. Stars could just be getting scripts for scenes in "Roughspun Ocean Breeze", and they know what's happening in their scenes but don't have a clue what particular movie it will appear in.
“What is knowing… really?”
This is how the got the cameos at the end of The Suicide Squad, too. Wait for each actor to be in costume for some unrelated reason, and just have them read whatever line they need.
That's the kinda thing Tom Holland would say.
Sounds like Gwyneth Paltrow and Spiderman
In fairness, it might be a post-credits scene. They often do those separate from the actual movie.
At this point I wouldn't be surprised if Marvel just shoots stuff with actors that may never be used just so they can honestly say that they don't know lol
They know. They would be paid and contracted differently.
Didn't Gwyneth Paltrow not realize that she had a scene in Spider-Man: Homecoming? Understandable given that Spider-Man, Iron Man, and Happy (all also in that scene) had also been in other movies. Was she filming a scene for an Iron Man film? A Captain America film? Avengers? Something else?
So yeah Tom Hiddleston might have a scene in Thor Goes Fourth. Or maybe in Dr. Strange and the Multiverse Of Madness? Or maybe those were scenes that were ultimately cut from Loki? Quantumania? Guardians 3? Loki Season 2? Guardians Holiday Special?
It would be so great if they managed to trick him into thinking certain scenes were "just cut" for Loki, but they were actually for Thor 4.
That’s kind of how Disney/Marvel does it though.
Imagine that? Getting contracted to do a certain number of scenes, not movies, and having absolutely no idea what the larger picture is
