Hello.

As you have seen I have posted here over the last few days about problems with my fans ramping etc.

Well I've gone a different route as in I've drilled holes where the CPU fan is on the bottom of the laptop case. Well I didn't exactly drill as didn't have one I had to heat up a screw driver end and pierced the case with about 10 to 12 holes where the CPU fan is.

Now, I have repasted with some kyronaut and my idle temps are around 50c even with the holes drilled in and with the fan not rampin up till it's higher temps so keep that in mind! But when my cooling pad is switched on and set to auto the temps plummet to 39c to 41c idle.

I have tdp set to auto and performance boost is on but set to efficient aggressive method. I can manually set tdp from anywhere from 12w to 54w max! But have let it at auto for now.

When I game like diablo 3 as that's the only one I've tested with cooling fan pad on.temps are around 60c to 63c and when the fans do actually kick in I can feel the air coming through the drill holes. Igpu can be anywhere from 400mhz to over 900 depending what's on screen (map, people on map, battles etc. And seems stable upto now with very little throttling if any but would definitely need to check if does throttle in benchmarks pushing CPU and igpu.

So I'm wondering if this is classed as a win or do I need to go back to the drawing board, does the kyronaut need time to burn or settle in like some thermal pastes, do yous think I have succeeded in balancing temps, thermal throttle and performance.

I'm sorry for posting over the last couple of days but I seem to get good support on the low spec sub.

Again sorry for another long post. Any other tips like shooting some mesh inside where the holes are or anthiyelse would be appreciated.

Kindest regards. Scotte.
