Do people travel around with a 'buddy' and take photos with it?

I went to Italy for a month this time. I brought my favorite sticker with me and took photos with it. It was fun and memorable. I'm curious if people bring a special thing with them too when they travel and take photos.

I bring my plushie penguin with me!

It will always reminds me of the gnome polaroids from the movie Amélie.

We do something similar. A small Minnie Mouse plush goes along on all our adventures and we always take pictures of her in front of landmarks.

We had guests who brought Lego people with them and only took photos of the Legos. Never of them.

They said they do the same for all vacation photos.

I had an ex that did this with a plushy flamingo. He eventually decided to stay in Spain (got lost lol).

I have a small stuffed dog. It’s a bit sentimental, but rather than take the original (which wasn’t mine,) I bought several copies and take one of those instead. I’ve lost 3 or 4 of them in various cities. Once I dropped it off the side of the queue in star tours at Tokyo Disneyland, but I got it back that time.

It’s small and fits in my pocket, but I travel alone and it’s easier to get a picture of it than a picture of me. Its great for blocking other people out of photos that I don’t feel like waiting in line for. My relatives really enjoy the photos and I’ve started a collection of photos of the dog with famous paintings.

The curious thing is that I actually prefer cats.

I met a man on several Canadian bus tours of England who took with him a small beaver in a Maple Leaf T-shirt. The beaver, called Bucky, was included in many photos. Often he illustrated the size of things just as archaeologists use yardsticks to show the height of various buildings, etc.

The weak sibling state university in our state has a tradition of their alums taking their picture with the university flag as they travel (run from the law).
