Back in May, I paid a down payment on a 12kw system with a single powerwall. Within a couple weeks they came out and installed the electrical and powerwall (did that in less than 5 hours, great work! I can see the powerwall in my Tesla app now). The panel people were here at the same time and didn’t make any progress. They unloaded the panels, went up on the roof, and couldn’t find a way to mount their safety equipment and panels to the roof. We have a vaulted ceilings which proved to be tricky. I haven’t seen a Tesla Solar person since.
They left that day and texted with me for a few weeks saying they are working on getting it figured out. Eventually they stopped responding to texts. And in July/August I got an email saying something along the lines of “your installation was cancelled”. I of course tried to contact via email, text, through app chat, etc. No positive contact has been made after that.
I am super busy and eventually dropped it and just stopped chasing them. Now I have some time with the holidays and I want to for it installed this year.
The only viable options I’ve figured out are to:
— go to a Tesla store (that’s didn’t work, no Tesla energy)
— keep texting them (I gave up after months of them not responding)
— call and wait on the phone (this never got me through)
— email more (I emailed at least 3 different email addresses at least 3-6 times each at this point, no response)
— order another Tesla solar install so that sales will talk to me and ask them to figure it out (haven’t tried this yet!!)
What the heck should I do?
Any solar roof owners in Massachusetts (or NH/Maine) willing to message me your address so my wife and I can see the esthetics of your roof in person? Willing to compensate with beer.
We are about to kick off a major reno that will involve ripping off our roof and would love to go solar roof, but need wife's approval on the looks first. Pics aren't gonna cut it.
Good evening, I had Tesla install panels about two years ago. they are finally completing the job next week. Do you have any experience of calling in and asking for some kind of reimbursement since it’s been such a long time for the work to be completed, or should I just take the punch in the mouth and pay the contracted price?
I got my installation date on December 12th and 13th. I plan on taking both days off to observe.
Are there any things I should watch for and make sure the installers do? What do you wish you asked for on installation day?
