not sure if you're being sarcastic, but a LOT has changed for blacks, women and gays in 50 years. What is normal now would be extreme then. Anyone who doesn't see that is a child or lacks immense perspective

They added Trans and Latino rights. Some people got richer leading movements. Nothing else changed much

Two things in particular. One is the realization that there are more groups whose rights need to be addresses. And two, the fact that for all the progress made since then, America is currently backsliding towards the 50's rather than progressing.
