Dining out

Has anyone gone to a dining out event with their spouses command? He’s wearing dinner dress blues and attire is formal I think? Is a long gown overkill or appropriate?

I haven't been to a dine out yet but my wife has one coming up soon, i think her people are doing one centered around uniforms from all time periods, could even be other countries uniforms I believe. It's more of a informal/costume centric. It all depends on what the theme is :)

Is this a Marine Corps dining out? A long dress would be fine. However, it’s slightly less formal than the Ball so a shorter dress would be fine, too.

It’s for navy! Would that change it?

The dining out I went to was formal. I think it depends on unit/situation

Depends on where and why. We went to wing house with casual attire. Great time.

Some are casual, some are cocktail and others are like you are going to the king's coronation.
