soon-to-be military wife asking advice for marriage process

hey! so, my partner is stationed in the UK with the USAF, and I'm currently on an extended vacation visit here with him. we want to get married soon, but are having trouble finding info about if we can get married here (on-base or off) or if we have to go back to the States for a marriage license and ceremony. we pretty much just want to elope, a traditional ceremony + reception is not important to either of us. does anyone have any experience with getting married overseas when both partners are US citizens? or have links to share to accurate web resources? TIA!!

Denmark is the easiest option to get married as a foreign couple in Europe. Takes a little bit of time but is super easy and straightforward, if you choose to not return to the States to get married. Hubby and I got married there a few years ago since the requirements in Germany were much more difficult for him

Have him talk to his chaplain, he can guide him on the process.

Getting married in the UK will be difficult as typically you have to give 1 month notice to marry (in the counties you live in) and both have residential addresses. There is probably a way for one to be a non-resident but you’d be better checking the gov.uk website for information on that.
