Wasn’t there a post in r/nba today about Milič dunking over a car? Quite a coincidence lol

They were on the fence about signing him then saw the dunk and pulled the trigger

There were rumors about this in the Slovenian media for a few days. That's why I posted that clip as I got reminded of it lol.

Marko Milic was probably the most popular basketball player in Slovenia before Dragic. He was really young when he became famous (like 16 or 17) and was a big talent. He went to the NBA to young in a time when Europeans didn't really get a chance. But he returned to Europe and had a good Euroleague career. He could have been even better, if he learned how to shoot, but he never did. He was an athletic undersized PF, but also very smart with a lot of moves around the basket. He changed his game when he became older and slower and really just used a lot of fakes around the basket.

He was simillar to Luka in a way. A very strong player, with high IQ. Played with a lot of energy, argued with the refs a lot. I think we brought him to help Luka on and off the court.

They sure didn't sign him to help Luka avoid techs :)

I think they brought him mainly because of his character.

Luka's dad is a better coach than Marko Milić. So it wouldn't be so strange.

Not sure if he's any good but with Igor's departure another Slovenian with the coaching staff won't hurt.

And it looks like he and Kidd played together in Phoenix so there's that. At least they keep improving the coaching staff and FO.

I get you, but Igor is not Slovenian. He is Serbian and Luka understands him very well.

Ya, they needed a Luka friendly hire and with Goran refusing the old JJ role this makes a lot of sense.

He is not good coach. I dont even think he ever was assistant coach before. Ofcourse he know what coaches should do since he had long carer. But he have positive character. He is extremely fun guy. I more see him as replacement for Bobi than for Kokoškov.
