Is she whacking Bartoc with her hammer? Sheesh. I always find it wild when planet busters are hitting street tiers. Like, that guy should be mist. But alas, that's comic books.

Funny you should mention that, but that is an actual plot point in this series. It is odd that she is missing Batroc — he even says exactly as such the previous page — the answer is related to the principle premise of the series, with Gwen Poole being a girl from the real world transported to the Marvel Universe: Batroc comes to learn that he is a fictional character, and was one of the only characters other than Gwen to accept that as truth upon being presented with the information.

As if that isn't weird enough, how did he kick her so hard it made a Thor sized dent in a brick wall?

Thor's magic. And she's god magic, which paradoxically can scale both ways -- to levels a human can understand and interact with on the one end, but way out into mysterious levels that humans can't imagine on the other. In a story, a god could hit a human just hard enough to give them a concussion, or they could hit them hard enough to erase them from existence, and both could be thematically appropriate

My guess is that they just hold back like spiderman does

Did anyone else notice the FAP was one of the written sound effects?

I didn’t, before dozens of people began PM’ing me with the message.

Surprised at how far down I had to go before this was mentioned.

Sorry, is it explained why Jane speaks like the old Thor?

In the comics most gods speak Godtongue (or some name like that). It can be understood by anyone who hears it. In the head of the person hearing it they hear the "oldest" version of their mother tongue they can realistically understand. So for most English speakers they would hear that old timey Shakespearean english muddled with modern words that have no real historical equivalent. If she was in Japan, the people would hear her speaking traditional "older" Japanese.

Short answer: Magic.

That’s what happened in the comic when she became Thor. It was a more compete character transformation.

To help conceal her identity.

It's a little like, if she got the hammer of Luke Cage, she would start talking like. . . ok, that probably wouldn't fly.

Ah, the best Gwen. I miss this series.

Maybe she will get to return in the Gwen verse shenanigans that are happening in the spider-gwen comics right now.
