Yes. Movie "Last Samurai" (which I really like) should have prussian military advisors not american, if it was historically accurate.

What, you egg?

The Chilean army in its early days was Trained by Prussian Instructors, they even had a German Officer's Academy. This is the result of that.

after the independence wars the chilean army was based on the french army, during the saltpeter war in 1881 the government started locking for german military advisors and in 1886 the Captain Emil Körner, from the Prussian staff college, was apointed in charge of the military emulation program, and after the civil war of 1891 that put an end, among other things, to the french modeled army the emulation program turned info full reforms that culminated in the adoptions of german military doctrines in 1906. It was extended also into military logistics and medical services, promotions, retirement, salary regulation and even uniforms (adopted in 1904), marching styles, helmets, parades, and military music.

Theres a reason why prussian military thinkers like moltke and clausewitz are still teached in many militaries. Prussia might have been a reactionary junkyard in the 19th century, but their military thinkers were always considered one of the best.
