Arsenal are the only club in the Premier League that doesn't have a location (e.g. Manchester, Nottingham etc) associated with its name

Just something I found interesting

Edit: I am aware that we used to be Woolwich but currently the name is only Arsenal Football Club. I was just making an observation that out of all the clubs in the premier league we are the only one without a specific location in the name.

We're too gargantuan for one place.

We are location based tho because everything in woolwich is also woolwich arsenal there but as time has gone by woolwich arsenal has been more commonly named just woolwich

Ødegaard, it was always you.

I believe we are one of my two in the whole league. Port Vale being the other.

Francis Jeffers has more trophies than Kane

They clearly haven’t heard of Hashtag United in the Isthmian League North Division

Yes/no, the PV wiki page correctly claims they are the only club in the English pyramid not named after a place, because originally Arsenal were named after the Dial Square workshop district in the Woolwich armaments complex.

How about Crystal Palace then?

It's a self-fulfilling retcon but technically Arsenal tube station is a geographical location in London.

Which I believe is the only tube station named after a football club

Thanks Herbert Chapman. Gillespie Road was a stupid name anyway

It was named after the club not the other way around.

That’s the name of the building, not the name of the land it sits on. In the same way Nando’s on Church Street js a geographic location, but not the name of the area.
