There's an article from Reuters here
https://www.reuters.com/article/idUSS8N2US01L

DUBAI, Aug 9 (Reuters) - Iran has registered its first official order for importing $10 million worth of goods in cryptocurrency this week, the semi-official Tasnim agency reported on Tuesday quoting an official from the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade.

“This week, the first official import order registration worth 10 million dollars was successfully completed using cryptocurrency. By the end of September, the use of cryptocurrencies and smart contracts will be widely used in foreign trade with target countries,” Alireza Peymanpak said. (Reporting by Dubai Newsroom; Editing by Alison Williams)

They obviously don't say who they are importing from, since it's probably someone who isn't supposed to be dealing with Iran (due to sanctions)

And so bitcoin begins it's inevitable journey to becoming the world's reserve currency.

Usually when they say Cryptocurrency it's not Bitcoin. Otherwise they will just say Bitcoin, from my recollection. But then that leads the question... What crypto would they actually take besides Bitcoin

Just like in this article they say Bitcoin directly. After considering it for a moment I'm guessing it was a mixed bag of BC and other crypto... So that's why they just say crypto currency

That is true (Iranian here). In Iran, state universities are free, room and board is free, and people (men and women equally) pursue higher education because they can actually afford life and college... believe it or not! Their government has invested a lot in cyber/high tech, especially crypto. They've also invested a lot (for the past 40+ years) in renewable energy, mostly nuclear power. US has gradually fallen behind in most everything, I believe it's the dark side of conservatism that's preventing US from moving with times and embracing change --> crypto adoption is a good example of that.

Future headlines just in. Iran currency no longer accepted over lack of trust and country goes back to fiat money.
