It’s just ridiculous

My neighbors have crossed the line everyday since we moved in 3 years ago. They constantly have heavy traffic coming and going from their home, they’ve had a broken down old car parked in front of my house for the last 6 months when they have space in front of their own home for it. They have junk all over their front yard like broken bikes, a trailer, an old couch, an AC and get this AN ACTUAL TOILET! They have 3 kids that always ride their bikes in our driveway next to my husbands brand new car and play in our front yard and climb our tree, despite us asking them to stop. The worst of all is they have two dogs they let run amuck on our street… it pisses me off because they just don’t give a damn about their kids or dogs. These two dogs are mean and will chase anyone in their yard or walking from their car, one in particular gets really close and growls and barks. They are small dogs but still I’m fed up being barked at and chased in my own yard, my son and daughter getting chased, company we have over getting chased. I cant even bring my dog out front in a leash to take him for a ride or just for a walk without getting intense anxiety, my dog is big and doesn’t like other dogs especially ones going crazy so i literally have to carry my almost 100lb dog to my car and take him somewhere else for a walk. I’m so fed up and idk what to do. We’ve spoken to them politely and they were nice and said they would keep the kids in line and keep the dogs out back… but that never happened. I’ve called animal control and reached out to our HOA but nothing has changed.

Get some stanchions to put at the end of your driveway and make a line so the kids see it's not available. If you can fence your property, do it. Yes you should not have to but you need to do what you can to make things off-limits when people are dumb like these ppl are lol.

Put a visible no trespassing sign up. If the kids (or anyone) are on your property you can charge them for trespassing. If you can’t afford a fence or unable to have a fence due to HOA I would mark out property lines with a neon string, and next time you see the kids tell them not to pass the string. Kids understand visible boundaries. And with the dogs- if they are chasing you I would honestly mace them. They get sprayed enough they will eventually leave you alone. Also, set up some cameras around your house. You can also call your state and say someone abandoned a car in front of your house that hasn’t moved in 6 months. They’ll tow it for you

We got the cameras but it doesn’t stop these little shits. But you make a good point, i think i need some mace.

Kids don't respect boundaries if parents don't care to teach them. The headaches next door to me are proof of that. If you can get a Dazzer ll for the dogs do it. It works on the three dogs next door barking and charging at the fence when my family is out.

I don't know why these people think it's ok to do whatever they want to our yards but if roles were reversed they would flip out.

Bylaw, if you have it in your area. Send pictures of the property and tell them of the car that’s been parked for 6 months. If they ever have cars parked on the front lawn, that’s a bylaw infraction as well.

Animal control for the dogs running off leash (tell them the dogs temperament is unknown to you.)

Had something similar happen. Minus the dogs. That’s another neighbour of ours 🤷‍♀️

Perfect answer above. I hate cars on the lawn - such a eye sore. There’s a reason it’s usually a violation. Although the truth is that not all areas have bylaws. In some places these things just don’t matter

Kids playing on your property, especially climbing a tree seems like a severe liability. I would put a fence up before you end up in court with these nitwits. Good luck.

That’s my whole point to my husband about the kids. He’s so quick to defend them and yeah sure it’s not the kids fault they have no sense of manners or respecting other peoples boundaries but still. It’s 100% a liability if they get hurt on our property. One day one of them left their bike in the middle of our driveway so we couldn’t pull in without moving it, i threw it in the street.

motion detector sprinklers for the kids. They sell ultrasonic devices which are very unpleasant to kids but not adults, unfortunately your dog would hate it. So settle for sprinklers.

mace the dogs, seriously....mace them. Make sure on your property. keep calling the city and start sending videos of those dogs.

plant thorn bushes in places the kids go, around the tree and along the driveway, park your car away from them so you can get in and out but they wont. Better yet, park in the garage.

That nonworking car on the street? why have u not called the city on it? the city will tow it away fairly quickly.

The HOA knows about the neighbors, what HOA would not notice their junk yard. I think a fairly relaxed HOA is a good thing but accepting this is beyond reasonable. I dont know what to do, i hate hoas but i hope others do.

So as to the abandoned car this is the second one. I had one towed about a year ago that sat out there for a few months too. I guess I’ll have to do that again but honestly i know these people will just find another clunker to park there. The HOA literally does nothing, I’d love to know what we even pay for! I have planned to go to the next meeting in a couple weeks so hopefully i can get some real answers.

Everyone keeps suggesting mace...but that's not legal in every area, and it can be pricey. Plus, law enforcement might consider it cruel and malicious (and less than legal) to intentionally spray kids and tiny dogs with mace. However, I hear wasp spray is a great deterent. You're just out there, spraying for wasps by your new vehicle, and oops, their faces got in the way lol.

Lol love this. I would never spray a child though, just the dogs 😂

Until somebody gets hurt or bitten nothing will change.

Go get a airhorn make sure it’s ready to use and then go outside to your car carrying it , when you see the dogs free running , when they charge up barking and snapping you swing your arm up and blast the mutt with it right in the face.. no you don’t hit the dog but trust me a sound blast from that Airhorn will make them run away. Do it everytime they come charging at you. Yep takes guts to stand still and let them run at you but one or two lessons with the air horn should teach them to stay back. Any one says anything to you you very quietly say “ next time I will kill them, if you can’t control them and keep them home” . THATS FAIR Warning to the owners. Yup they will call the cops so what?self protection is your excuse. .

As a former vet tech and SPCA Agent, please do not air-horn the dogs. It's not their fault their owners are fuckwads and haven't properly trained them. You can seriously rupture their eardrums with that decible of noise. Besides, if you deafen the dogs, they'll just come back because they can't hear shit, lol.
There is mace that is made specifically for dogs. Human mace is hit or miss...meaning some dogs it deters, and others it doesn't phase. (Learned this the hard way) I DESPISE pet owners that are selfish twats. It's usually the animal that suffers a horrible fate because their owner couldn't take the time to care and train them properly.

I don't know where you're from, but where I am, these would be the options available to me for all that you're experiencing. First would be putting up a no trespass sign and also if you know the trespassers, sending them a certified letter. (Meaning they sign for it when it gets delivered) Stating in that letter "this is their final warning regarding trespassing onto your property, any other incident will be handled with law enforcement. And that trespassing notice is extended for any human or pet that resides at their property. Keep a copy of signed and dated letter, and keep the receipt from the postal service for sending the certified letter...and also file it with the police. The other options I would have is to notify my city bylaw office and city/town council about their shit (junk yard) and their unruly dogs. I would also be able to reach out to the SPCA about the dogs, too. As a former SPCA officer, there should be some type of ordinance where you are, regarding dogs roaming freely, and acting in an aggressive manner. Get yourself some security cams if you don't have any already. Those can be very beneficial if anything happens regarding the dogs, or a child being hurt on your property. Sorry I'm not much help, but hopefully you can see if any of these services are available to you. Best of luck.

If they have different people coming and going all the time they might be selling drugs. My grandma's neighborhood used to be all older people. Nice and quiet. Neighbor across the street died. House was sold and became a rent house. Renters had people coming and going all the time. Different vehicle everytime. Kids would shoot bb gun at our house. We hated it. We got sweet karma though. The town swat team served a warrant on the house. They founds drugs among other things. The renter got evicted and had to figure moving his stuff from jail.

You could get a motion sensor for a couple sprinklers thats remote controlled so you can turn it on and off when coming and going. If they get sprayed even once I bet the climbing and biking would stop
